El sector privado es uno de los grandes ausentes en los procesos de apertura de la región, contrastando fuertemente con lo que sucede en otras partes del mundo. ¿Qué hace a América Latina diferente y porqué sucede eso? ¿Cuáles son los incentivos ausentes para una participación genuina del sector privado? Conoceremos algunas buenas prácticas y estableceremos un diálogo con actores destacados, para discutir si el sector privado realmente tiene un rol en el avance de la agenda de Gobierno Abierto o si seguirá mirando el proceso como un actor mayoritariamente pasivo.

The private sector has been mostly missing from the region’s openness processes, contrasting heavily with what happens in other parts of the world. What makes Latin America different in that sense and why does this happen? What are the missing incentives for a genuine participation of the private sector? We’ll get to know some good practices and establish a dialogue with outstanding actors, to discuss if the private sector effectively has a role in the advancement of the Open Government agenda or if it will keep looking at this process as a mainly passive actor.
