Juliana Sakai works for more than five years at Transparência Brasil, which had a key role in the approval of the Brazilian Freedom of Information Law. She has conducted several researches on Brazilian public institutions and among other activities she coordinates the project "Achados e Pedidos", an online collaborative platform, made in partnership with Abraji (Brazilian Association for Investigative Journalism). Achados e Pedidos is both a database of Freedom of Information requests and responses, and a mapping of which public institutions are failing to comply with the law. Sakai graduated in International Relations from University of São Paulo (USP) and holds a Masters degree in Political Science from the University of Lüneburg (Germany).
